5 important things to prepare you for autumn

IMG_5886

Autumn is officially here when the days get shorter and the nights get longer as the leaves fall and the air gets cooler. This means that you should prepare your home and yourself for this season. Here are five important things you can do to prepare for fall.

1. Pillow

No matter the size, shape or color, pillows are an important element to accent your fall decor. They enhance the character and individuality of a room by emphasizing the style of your choice for the season. Fabric pillows add warmth and coziness to the room, so you can use pillows in the living room and bedroom. In the living room you can place them on sofas, chairs and armchairs, because they are soft and make sitting comfortable. In the bedroom, you can place them on the bed, because they make the bed look more beautiful.
Combine pillows with patterns and prints in the fall, because they provide a balance. Take a small pillow with a simple pattern, a large one with a colorful pattern and a plain one.

2. Natural hot water bottle

Autumn brings many activities: walks, autumn picnics, camping, adventure or a visit to the park. Some of these activities can cause pain, depending on how long they lasted or how intense they were. Using a hot water bottle can help relieve the pain. This hot water bottle is an absolute must-have for the cold season. With its length of 81 cm, it is wonderful to wrap around the body. Hot water bottles are usually small and warm only the place where they are placed. And if you don’t sit or lie still, they rarely stay where you want them either. However, this handy bottle can be tied with a ribbon and loop so you can move freely with it. It stays where the warming effect is needed: Whether over the shoulders, around the neck or around the waist or hips, the hot water bottle lies wonderfully. It loosens muscles and effectively helps against pain and even relieves deep tension. The small nubs on the bottle also have a massage effect.

3. Candles

Candles are one of the indispensable utensils when you’re getting ready for fall, as they provide a relaxing and cozy atmosphere with their warmth. Candles are versatile because they come in different styles, such as woody, fruity, floral or earthy. With it, you can express your personality and emphasize your sense of style in home decor.
You can use candles indoors and outdoors. Indoors, you can place candles in the living room to spread coziness and warmth, in the kitchen to dispel odors, in the bedroom to create a romantic and intimate atmosphere, in the dining room to decorate the dining table or host a candlelit dinner, in the bathroom to create a spa feel.
Aside from decorating, you can also use candles for your self-care, to remember a loved one, or to meditate and pray.
Some of the candle scents recommended for fall are;

  • Spiced pumpkin
  • Autumn leaves
  • Cinnamon and apples
4. Headband

A hair band is a chic and timeless hair accessory that comes in handy in the fall. Headbands can be worn with any outfit, making them a versatile accessory whether your hair is straight or curly.
Some of the activities you can participate in are harvest festivals, picnics, adventures and walks. Since these activities are very strenuous, you need a headband: it prevents sweat from dripping down your face, protects your face from the sun, and keeps your hair out of your face.

  • Headbands are not only great helpers on bad hair days, they also keep hair out of your face and keep your ears warm on cold days.
  • If you buy a headband, you should choose one made of organic cotton and with an elastic band. Organic cotton is good because it:;
  • absorbent
  • breathable
  • Comfortable
  • environmentally friendly
  • low weight compared to other materials
  • Good for you if you have sensitive skin or are allergic
  • Prevents overheating and thus has a cooling effect
  • The elastic band allows you to style any hairstyle and adjusts to your head circumference. It is non-slip and fits one size fits all.
5. Shea butter

If you’re shopping for fall items, shea butter shouldn’t be missing from your list. It’s especially handy when you’re planning outdoor activities.
Shea butter is obtained from the nuts of the shea tree, which is also called Karite and is native to Central Africa. It has a thick consistency and is firm when stored at room temperature. It has several properties that make it good for your skin, even sensitive skin, and your overall health.
The main components of shea butter are linoleic acid, oleic acid and stearic acid. They nourish the skin after prolonged use. You can use shea butter in many ways in the fall. These include;
Moisturizing – since shea butter contains 60%, it is a good moisturizer because it forms a barrier and retains moisture.
Anti-inflammatory – because it contains cinnamic acid and also quickly penetrates the skin. The acid is also responsible for stopping skin changes, which makes shea butter a good choice for people with acne.
Skin soothing- Shea butter has a soothing effect on the skin because it contains vitamins A and E. It soothes sunburn, windburn, dry patches and scars.
Contains collagen – collagen gives your skin a plump appearance and helps slow down the aging process because it contains vitamins A and E.
Sun protection – Shea butter has a sun protection factor of 6 and can therefore be used as a light UV protection.
