What music can do for you.

Hi, welcome to MomentosBox, I am so happy to have you here today, because honestly, there are literally millions of blogs out there, and you chose to be here with me. Before I go any further I would like to let you in on why I decided to have this little area called “MusicBox” on my Blog.

Besides the fact that I wanted a spot on my blog where I can express myself in english, I also wanted to create a space where I can talk about my music or music in general. Anyone who really knows me will also know that music and singing in particular have always been an important part of my life. As a child, I always sang regardless of where, when and with whom I am with. Even my teachers at school became aware of this little habit of mine that gave me tremendous pleasure. With time, I eventually learnt that there is a place and time for everything. I now know that that was my way of dealing with things because singing, like music is an amazingly easy and entertaining way to combat stress and boost your overall sense of well-being and find comfort.

This is so important for all of us to understand and it sometimes gets neglected. Music is so much more than just sounds, yes, it’s also dam good therapy. Listening to music helps us by either distracting us and creating images in our mind, or it gets us integrated in movements making us more active like when dancing. You know, women are even usually encouraged to listen to music during childbirth to help the relaxation process during labor and interrupt the cycle of pain to provide release. Music can also used as a theraputic method to soothe various conditions like painful menstrual cramps, other daily aches, high blood pressure, addiction, depression and so much more.

So if you don’t have your own personal relaxation playlist yet then make one quickly! You need to put all the songs that help you feel comfortable together. Don’t be afraid to mix all kinds of different genres, cause if the music makes you feel good and helps get your groove on, then so be it. It doesn’t matter if it’s heavy metal, or classical music mixed together, if it does the job of soothing you then it’s right for you. So go compose that playlist with your favorite musical selections. And use it to treat your soul to something special, overtime, time and time and again.
